Historical Flooding
Using historical maps, we were able to observe how water features change in a city over a time frame of 175+ years. This work undertaken as a member of the HERO 2021 cohort, found that wetlands have all but disappeared from 1833 to 2017 in Worcester, MA, resulting in many of the flooding issues experienced present day.
